Lady is the opposite of Sonny. As the youngest, she’s full of energy and spunk. When she isn’t leaping around like she’s trapped in a bounce house she demands attention, begging for hugs and kisses. She has the cutesy cocked-head-look of a perpetual puppy on the ready. After requesting to come up by placing a paw on my leg, Lady will give her most heartfelt hug. I know it’s wrong to give in but what’s a mom to do? She is also my watchdog on guard to give me an intruder alert. Lady is elegant with white fluff on her legs known as pants. She is a fascinating little girl, with brains too!
The doggie in the middle is the beauty known as Jen. She has smooth fur of shiny coffee bean and her eyes draw you in like a decadent bath of dark chocolate. You can’t deny her. It’s obvious she favors men by her ease at charming them and commanding their attention. Jen’s whole back end moves like a top speed outboard motor when she’s pleased. Then, in a flash, she’s done, taking herself away needing to be left alone. (Knowing her history explains her behavior. She spent 80% of her formative years alone.) When she sits down by my side, very close, she puts her head under my hand insisting to be pet. Jen looks up at me expecting my undivided attention to acknowledge her adorable presence. As I acknowledged our mutual devotion, I was inspired. I hope you find this book as enchanting as Jen, the muse, and the expressive look of her eyes. Gloria
